Mexico City: El Chopo

El Chopo is a tianguis– derived from Nahuatl for day market or harvest– for punks, goths, and anarchists in Mexico City. When we couldn’t find it and asked around, an old man said, “ah, sí, los que se visten de negro.” Then we followed the goths and fashion punx to the crowded market. There are vendors selling everything from clothes to cds to punk patches. Great people watching, Mexipunx everywhere, and live music. Fun.

Saturdays only, metro to Buenavista, on Aldama street.
